Sweet returning to Ayrshire

Hold onto your glitter and brace for impact – The Sweet are storming back to Ayrshire for the first time since that night in Kilmarnock. Yes, THAT night. The now-mythical 1973 gig at The Grand Hall where chaos reigned, decibels soared, and a flying bottle sparked the birth of one of rock’s most iconic anthems: “Ballroom Blitz.”

It was wild. It was loud. It was legendary.

Now, over 50 years later, the glam gods return – older, bolder, and louder than ever – ready to unleash a sonic firestorm at WinterStorm 2025 in Troon. And leading this glitter-drenched charge? None other than Andy Scott, the original axe-wielding architect of Sweet’s seismic sound. The riffs? Towering. The harmonies? Unmistakable. The attitude? Pure glam rock royalty.

🗣️ Andy Scott says:

“The band are really looking forward to the WinterStorm festival in November. We don’t play in Scotland nearly enough so it will be a fantastic night. The gig in Kilmarnock over 50 years ago was very scary and hopefully will never be repeated – but Ballroom Blitz as a parody of that night is there for posterity. Sweet lives on !

This isn’t just a concert. It’s a homecoming of legends, a celebration of chaos turned into chart-topping magic. Expect a greatest-hits masterclass from “Fox on the Run” to “Love is Like Oxygen” – a glam-rock spectacle where the amps are cranked, the glitter flies, and the spirit of ’73 roars back to life.
