Well, 2019 has been a year of upheaval for most of us. I refuse to use the “B” word! During the summer Sweet had two long term members leave the band in fairly quick succession which left a Herculean task ahead of us (Biz and Wiz that is). The “light bulb” moment happened when we were faced with the prospect of performing at a festival with only the indomitable Paul Manzi in our ranks and no other musicians. I managed to find Steve Mann at home and my fab tech Adam stepped up to play bass! This left Paul to be the Frontman, his god-given place. All was well again in the Sweet camp.
Lee Small has completed the line-up on Bass and Vocals. I mean great vocals, another momentous decision. Rock the Boat in Australia in October was another defining moment and we would all like to thank TC from the Novatines for his amazing contribution. So onwards to the future. A Big Thank You to everyone for their support on our very recent 18 date tour of the UK. Your comments and the various brilliant reviews of the “new” band have given us a fresh start. Here’s a toast to 2020 and more great concerts, gigs, festivals and tours !!
