In May 1967, The Silverstone Set had a grand tour of Portugal lined up, but alas, they broke up quicker than you can say “groupies,” which handed The Elastic Band their debut on a silver platter. Whatever they lacked in rehearsal (let’s just say it was a lot), they made up for with enough enthusiasm to power a small village. They were finally off to the races! The game was on: they were gigging all over the UK, making TV appearances, and landing a record deal faster than a cat can fall off a windowsill!
